All School Meeting Minutes

The all school meeting was held Monday January 18. Read about everything that was discussed at the meeting. The minutes are now posted online.

During the meeting we talked about the next steps for TPCS as we currently are working on a strategic plan; Linda provided an overview of curriculum and we celebrated Martin Luther King's birthday along with other celebrations.

Drive for Schools Fundraiser

“Drive for Schools” Raised $16,300 for TPCS!
Thank you to all our families for rev-ving up those engines, putting the pedal to the metal, and racing to the finish line! Thanks to you, we sold $16,300 in tickets for the "Drive for Schools" campaign. 100% of the proceeds support our wonderful school.

It's truly remarkable that in these economic times, we successfully matched our "Drive For Schools" success as last year's top-selling school in Santa Cruz county. We'll find out next week how all 60 participating schools did this year, and hope all raised lots of money for education in our communities.

Congratulations to our two top-selling families: the Trinh-Halperins (Justin and Nga, parents of Milo and Khai) and the Jespersens (Matt and Amy, parents of Lyla and Eli).

Special thanks also go to the following families for a whole lot of ticket sales: Chris and John Biakanja, Jody and Adrian Garsia, Erika and Keith Hearon, Bengie and David Hodges, Marni Pitt and Michael Krakowiak, Valerie and Craig Siemer, Maia and Jason Zohara.

The drawing for the grand prize and 100 other prizes is at 1:00 p.m. this Sunday, October 25 at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Though you need not be present to win, feel free to come down to see if you or someone you know won the Toyota Prius or $25,000.

Now that we have done such a fabulous job on our fundraising, let's now take the time time to cherish the wonderful gifts that Tierra Pacifica offers our children and families.

Thank you to all of you!!!

Letter from our Principal Linda

September 07, 2009
Dear Tierra Pacifica Charter School Community,

Remember to come to the All School Meeting on Monday, September 14 6-8PM in the Green Acres Multi-purpose Room. This is a required meeting for all families. (Don’t worry, everything calms down after this – we’ve found that if we get all the information out at the start of the year, the rest of the year runs smoothly.) We’ll show pictures and tell stories of the first 2 weeks of school, the teachers will share about each class’s plans for the year, and we’ll do several activities aimed at setting the stage for the entire community to work effectively together toward our goals for the  year. Sign up for childcare in the office

Who Are We?

Tierra Pacifica Charter School, now in its eleventh year, is a tuition-free public school serving children from all parts of Santa Cruz County. Currently we serve 135 students in our close-knit learning community, with six classrooms of children in grades K-8.

The goal of Tierra Pacífica is academic excellence achieved through a dynamic, arts enriched curriculum, which is standards based and developmentally appropriate. Children are recognized as individuals with unique learning styles. The school offers a variety of opportunities for exploring curriculum in multi-age settings with talented staff and specialists. The aim is to educate the whole child, with emphasis on diversity awareness, conflict resolution, and social and emotional development.

Tierra Pacifica is designed for families who want to take an active role in the education of their children. Parents participate in the classroom and in many other capacities, including governing the school. The result is a strong feeling of community among children, parents, teachers and staff.

Tierra Pacifica Charter School is sponsored by the Live Oak School District.  Our new school site opened during the 2007/2008 school year.

If you are interested in enrollment, please visit our enrollment web page.
